Amy Tan is a celebrated American author known for her rich storytelling, which often explores Chinese-American identity and mother-daughter relationships. Her breakthrough novel, The Joy Luck Club (1989), became a best-seller and was adapted into a successful film. Tan’s other notable works include The Kitchen God's Wife, The Bonesetter's Daughter, and Saving Fish from Drowning. Through her novels, essays, and memoir, Where the Past Begins, Tan has gained acclaim for her exploration of cultural heritage and personal resilience. Her work has earned multiple awards and established her as a major voice in contemporary American literature.
