We have exciting news: a brand-new Community Garden is coming to the library, and we want YOU to get involved!
You’ll have your own 4' x 8' garden space to grow fresh vegetables this summer. Applications will be available at the library starting March 1st. Space is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Additional Information:
- Eligibility: The garden plots are open to Bensenville Community Public Library card holders (one per family) only.
- Cost: Each garden space will cost $30 to reserve.
- Tentative Opening Date: The garden plots will be available for planting starting April 15th.
- Garden Guidelines: There will be guidelines on what you can plant and any maintenance responsibilities, such as watering and keeping the plot tidy.
- Plot Maintenance: Gardeners are responsible for the upkeep of their plots throughout the growing season and clean up at the end of the season.
The Seed Library is also reopening on March 1st! Stop by to choose from a variety of seeds to “borrow” to get your summer garden started.
